Product description

The Oldham flexible coupling compensates significant parallel misalignment via a sliding central disk. The design consists of three parts: two jaw hubs and a central polymer disk that slides transversely between the two jaws.

This system offers compensation of parallel misalignment far superior to that of classic jaw couplings (elastomer spider). It is particularly suited to transmissions where shafts cannot be perfectly aligned: precision machines, microscopes, encoders on offset axes.

The central disk is usually made of polyamide (PA) or PEEK for aggressive chemical environments. The absence of elastomer avoids ageing problems related to UV, temperature or solvents.
